2010!
…Gig News…
It’s 2010 we’ve been rehearsing and writing for a month and now we’re back to the gigging. Details for February gigs:
03/02/2010
The Purple Turtle, Camden,
65 Crowndale Rd,
London,
NW1 1TN
Cost: £5A lovely, fun venue near Mornington Crescent. It’s also a short walk away from Koko if anyone wants to continue their evening. We should be on at 8:00pm as we are opening the night.
You can get the flyer from our Facebook page (link over there on the right).
25/02/2010
The Cross Kings,
Kings Cross
126 York Way,, London,
N1 0AX
Cost: £5
From the Cross Kings website: ’From down under to up and coming, The Cross Kings, formerly known as the Backpackers, is now a quirky off-beat venue specialising in quality entertainment and the best of food and drink. Next door to Kings Place on York Way, and fighting its way through the hordes of Polish builders, hard hats and mountains of scaffolding that demonstrate the bustle of Europe’s largest regeneration area, emerges the jewel in the crown, a bright and feisty spark which is leading this transition period. Welcome to The Cross Kings. Step inside to find a colourful haven in which to laugh, drink, eat and be entertained. Discover the main bar, ideal for relaxing, or swirl downstairs to the more psychedelic basement. Created by the leading London caricaturists Simon and Sheeba Cassini, going downstairs is like plunging into a 3D comic strip. So whether it’s Russian music, the latest in indie, flourishing comedy acts or a quality screening we have everything you could possibly need. A little bit hip, a little bit hop, The Cross Kings is more than a venue, it’s a way of life.’ We fall into the ’latest indie’ category, come down and enjoy!
..Radio News..
Fresh Unsigned is a committed Internet radio site that exists to ‘to give new and up and coming bands and artists a platform for their music’. We were thrilled when they deemed our song ‘Speak of the Devil’ worthy of inclusion in their last show the ‘Fresh Unsigned 10’. Many thanks to Fresh Unsigned for that, you can check out the shows here:

Update 09/11/09
Hello,
Apologies for the delay between posts, since the last post we have done quite a bit but life has conspired to push this blog down the priorities list but we are back to ‘normal’ again now so..
…Gig News…
Thanks to all of those people who came to these gigs, cheered like loons, signed up to our mailing and/or said nice things to us after playing:
24/09/09 - Ryan’s Bar, Stoke Newington
A great night of dirty rock and roll and Bruce birthday hi-jinx. Thanks for squeezing in and getting sweaty in the dark. It was a wonderfully dirty basement gig, we bloody loved it!
09/10/09 - Famous 3 Kings, West Kensington
A strange gig in the back room of a sports bar, thanks to everyone who was there who created a great atmosphere in a venue which is not entirely conducive to live music.
24/10/09 – Hope and Anchor, Islington
A good gig in a good venue. We debuted one of our new ones The Family Blues which seemed to go down pretty well.
So those are the gigs up to date.. but the exciting news is that we have now confirmed 2 gigs to close out 2009…

Print-friendly flyer here: http://www.upallnightmusic.com/band_flyers.cfm?GigID=10650nd
Indie fun on a Thursday night? Yes please! 3 bands in a great venue, plus this place does some good Thai food yes, another Irish pub with a Thai kitchen.. it’s a real phenomenon isn’t it?
11/12/09
WhiteTrashParty Album Launch Party
The Good Ship
289 Kilburn High Road
London
NW6 7JR
This is a launch party gig for the excellent WhiteTrashParty (www.myspace.com/whitetrashparty) who are releasing their second album ‘Bleached of Childhood Dreams’. This should be a corking night of great bands in an excellent venue. We visited it recently and loved it.
…General News…
Quite a few people we have spoken to on our travels have been asking us about our plans for releasing any new material.. Quite simply, we want to release an EP in the New Year but what we record and put on it is constantly being discussed. We have a large number of new songs that are fighting for attention and we have some lo-fi home recording options that we are experimenting with. Needless to say, we want it to be the best it can be and will let you know what is happening as soon as we have things confirmed.
Cheers

Miller Gig 22/08/09 & General Update
Hello everyone,
…General News…
All though it looks like we only have Gig News at the moment there’s a whole lot of stuff going on behind the scenes such as vigorous rehearsing, finishing lots of new songs, recording plans, website making and general promotion. We could write a lot about all this other stuff but much of it is subject to change and/or a bit frivolous so we’re sticking to the concrete stuff at the moment! So…
…Gig News...
Date: Saturday 22nd August 2009
Venue:
The Miller
96 Snowsfields Road,
London Bridge,
London
SE1 3SS
Cost: £5 – On stage 8:30ish.
Website: http://www.themiller.co.uk
Map: http://www.themiller.co.uk/pub/map.asp
Here is some information from their website.. ‘The Miller is a friendly neighbourhood pub in the back streets of Borough. We serve freshly prepared food, real ales, a good selection of wines, and an extensive range of spirits.’ The venue part of The Miller is ’a small but perfectly formed venue in the back streets of Borough/ London Bridge, SE1 – capacity upstairs of 100, about 300 downstairs, with a late license.’ Who ‘put on live music five nights a week Tuesday to Saturday. Most nights we have four bands playing from about 7.30 onwards, all for just a fiver.’
We are opening up the night so will be on around 8:30ish for the start of what looks to be quite an impressive bill. We will also be playing a new song called ‘Beating Hearts’ for the very first time.
Until next time.
